Journal Rankings

TUBITAK has ranked the journals and divided them into A, B, C etc categories. I found it extremely useful. So much easier than looking for impact factors. Here is the link to the TUBITAK journal list.

Materials Identification Based on Passively Emitted Electromagnetic Radiation

I just encountered a new data mining competition featuring a $45,000 prize for materials identification. Here is the link: Materials Identification Based on Measurements of Passively Emitted Electromagnetic Radiation

I find this challenge very similar to the explosive detection project I am working on. We are detecting explosives (TNT etc.) from their hyperspectral signatures using differential spectrometry. More on it later.

Online product recommendations challenge
